Queen Tiffany loves her Vanilla Sugar

After yesterday’s whimsical, dramatic, and colorful look, I decided to tone it way down today and go for a soft, more natural look.

  • Vanilla Sugar – a light, creamy color with some shimmer. Perfect for a base color.
  • Queen Tiffany – a neutral brown, amped up with some glimmer
  • Bisque – The perfect concealer. It hides blemishes and under eye dark circles with ease!
  • Onyx – Opaque black shadow, but I used it as a liner

To get this look, I used the BE soft focus brush to sweep on Vanilla Sugar from lashes to brow. Emphasize It was used as a highlight on my browbone and inner V of the eye area. I used the crease end of the Quick Color and Crease brush to buff in Queen Tiffany into the crease and outer 1/2 of the lid. To finish it up, I used the Heavenly Liner brush to make my black liner shadow nice and soft.

To get the look:

On the eyes:

  • BE Prime Time for eyes
  • Vanilla Sugar swept from lashes to brow
  • Queen Tiffany in crease and outer 1/2 of lid
  • Emphasize It highlighting brow and inner V
  • Onyx on upper lashline
  • L’oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black

On the face:

  • BE Prime Time for face
  • Original foundation in Fairly Medium
  • First Class blush
  • Original mineral veil
  • BE Pretty Amazing in Courage

Monday’s Gossamer clouds were lit by the Moonshine

In honor of the new Princess Catherine, today I decided to try a look inspired by princess. Not by Princess Catherine’s lovely wedding look, but by fairy tale princesses of the Disney sort.

  • Monday – from the Good Morning Gorgeous kit, this cerulean blue is light but still bold enough to make a statement
  • Moonshine – silvery lilac high shine color
  • Gossamer – More of a highlight and shimmer than a real color
  • Leatherette – Buxom lashliner. It’s thick, creamy, and stays put all day. I love it!

To get this look, I went heavy on the Monday, especially on the inner lid. I layered Moonshine over the Monday on the outer 2/3 of the lid, and then blended it all together with Gossamer on the browbone and inner corner. I wanted a real Disney princess pink pout, but I am out of town and left my Pretty Amazing Charisma at home – otherwise, that color would have been perfect!

To get the look:

On the eyes:

  • BE Prime Time for eyes
  • Monday buffed from lashes to brow
  • Moonshine in crease and outer 2/3 of lid, also under lower lashline
  • Gossamer highlighting brow and inner V
  • Buxom Leatherette on upper lashline
  • L’oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black

On the face:

  • BE Prime Time for face
  • Original foundation in Fairly Medium
  • Optimist blush
  • Original mineral veil
  • BE lip gloss in Sugared Strawberry

What colors would you use for a fairy tale princess look?

Ta-dah! I’m a Fearless Rebel at the Marina.

My sister got me the Fabulous Eyecolor Palette for Christmas, and while I’ve used all four colors in it, I had yet to use all four of them together. I gave it a try today. The colors have fabulous names to go along with the Fabulous name of the Palette itself. The colors are:

  • Ta-dah – sheer, golden honey
  • Rebel – Medium glimmery brown
  • Fearless – very glimmery forest green
  • Marina – soft black liner shadow

I played around for a little while with the colors, before just deciding to throw it on and see what happens. The look that evolved looks a little like camouflage. I’m sure BE has specific tips on how to best highlight each color, but it’s not always fun to play by the rules, especially with colors named Fearless and Rebel!

To get the look:

On the eyes:

  • BE Prime Time for eyes
  • Ta-dah buffed from lashes to brow
  • Rebel in crease and outer 1/3 of lid
  • Fearless on inner 1/3 of lid and inner V
  • Marina dry lined on upper and lower lashline

On the face:

  • BE Prime Time for face
  • Original foundation in Fairly Medium
  • Optimist blush
  • Original mineral veil
  • BE lip gloss in Sensational (from the Real Deal kit)

How would you have worn these colors together?

I found a Grasshopper in the Bamboo on a Wednesday!

I love wearing bold colors on my eyes!

Today I’m demonstrating the art of foiling. The term foiling simply means applying color with a damp brush. I like using the larger end of a BE Foil and Fuse brush.  Use too much water and the shadow will just drip down your face. Use too little water and you’ll have a pasty mess. My personal technique is to dampen the brush and then dip it in the loose shadow. I’ll then swirl the damp brush and shadow in the lid of the eyeshadow pot until it is the right consistency. Then I paint the mixture where I want it and close my eyes to let it dry for a few seconds.

I love the experimenting with foiling. It changes the shade and dimension of the shadow you choose. Some shadows, especially mattes, will turn into a darker, more opaque shade of the dry shadow. And other colors, like the one I wore today, turns into a bold, glimmery statement.

The Look:

On the eyes:

  • BE Original Prime Time for eyes
  • Wednesday (from the Good Morning, Gorgeous collection) foiled from lashes to crease
  • Grasshopper (dry) in the crease for a little dimension
  • Bamboo foiled on inner 1/3 of lid and on inner V.
  • Buxom lashliner in Leatherette
  • L’oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black

On the face:

  • BE Original Prime Time for face
  • Original foundation in Fairly Medium
  • Optimist blush
  • Aveda lip glaze in Morning Rose

I went out of town for a few days on a last minute business trip with my husband, so as I was hurriedly packing yesterday, I just threw a bunch of e/s pots in my bag. It would have taken too long to try to plan out specific looks ahead of time for the next few days. So come back to find out how I can change up my look over the next few days with a limited color range and assortment!

Spellbound by the Surreal Cherry Coco Truffle, all she could say was Thank You.

Bare Escentuals has a promotion going on for a FREE eyeshadow in the Thank You shade with a purchase of $50 or more. Normally, I would get excited when I see the word free next to BE eye shadows, but I already have the Thank You shade. And… it’s far from my favorite. This shade was actually the very first BE e/s I got – years ago, it was a “free gift” in the foundation club. It sat mostly unused until today, when I was inspired to try it out again, and give it another shot.

Today’s look:

The eyes:

  • BE Prime Time for eyes
  • Thank You buffed all over, from lashes to above crease
  • Spellbound dusted lightly over Thank You
  • Surreal buffed well into crease
  • Cherry Coco Truffle wetlined on upper and lower lashes
  • L’oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black

The face:

  • BE Prime Time Brightening for face
  • Original foundation – custom blend of Fairly Light and Light
  • Compassion blush
  • BE funnel cake lipgloss

This is not my favorite look. I really like colors, and I think the brown family tends to wash me out. I like to accentuate my hazel eyes with a pop of color, and this color just isn’t doing it for me. Thank you, but no thank you. This guy will spend the rest of his life being mixed in with other colors.

The Cherry Blossom on the Magical Nude Beach was Legit.

I had a vision last night. No, not that kind of vision. I imagined doing my eyes today in a rose gold kind of color, but I knew I didn’t have that color, so I would have to create it. This was my first experience in the BE world of custom blending my own colors. It took some practice on my hand first, but the end result was pretty close to what I dreamed up.

On the eyes:

  • BE PrimeTime Brightening Primer for Eyes
  • Well Rested over entire area, from lashes to brow
  • Magical buffed onto lid from lashes to just above crease
  • Nude Beach foiled (applied damp) over Magical
  • Magical lightly swept over that, concentrating more on the outer crease
  • Legit l/s wetlined and winged out on top lashes, smudged on lower lashes
  • L’oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black

On the face:

  • Original BE foundation in Fairly Medium
  • Lovely blush
  • Aveda lipglaze in Cherry Blossom

Tell me what you think! Do you have any color suggestions or application techniques that would help this BEauty BEginner?
