Chroma Violet, Rose Gold, & Grey

I liked this look. I had an evening business reception to attend, and it was pretty and shimmery while still being totally professional. It held up well due to the Bare Escentuals primer shadow as a base, and I loved the cool tones with the little bit of shine in the center of the lids.

  • Bare Escentuals primer shadow in Chroma Violet
  • Sleek MakeUp (Oh So Special palette) Wrapped Up just in the crease without blending it out too much, Pamper above crease, and Bow under brow
  • Bare Escentuals High Shine Rose Gold patted onto center of lid and blended

  • tarte Gifted mascara

Sleek MakeUp Tan & Purple

I love the effect of neutral colors on the eyelid, with full lashes and a bright red lip. I felt super pretty all day when I wore this. It’s amazing how much some great lashes and a bold lip can make a whole face perk up.  One application tip I can offer to get this look is to skip traditional eyeliner – what I did here was “tightlining,” which means filling in between the lashes to create the illusion of thicker lashes. Here is a great tutorial that helped me to learn this technique (click here).

On the eyes:

  • Dove Gray primer shadow
  • Sleek MakeUp Oh So Special palette – The Mail all over, Wrapped Up in crease, Noir under lower lashes
  • BE Retro tightlined in both lashlines
  • tarte Gifted mascara

On the lips:

  • Pretty Amazing Strength

On the face:

  • Missha Cho Bo Yang bb cream in Light Beige
  • Laura Geller Balance N Brighten in Fair
  • tarte Tipsy blush
  • MUFE HD microfinishing powder

Bare Escentuals Bare Luxury: Azure Iris

Today I’m wearing the other half of the Bare Escentuals new holiday collection, Bare Luxury. The kit comes with warm tones and cool tones, and I was so excited to try out these cool-toned colors. I’m really loving the new solid Ready shadows. They apply super smoothly and blend well. As for staying power, I had one of those crazy allergy days while wearing these shadows, and they held up surprisingly well. I love the new solid formula that Bare Escentuals is exploring, especially for the convenience and the travel. I’m really not crazy about opening up all those little pots all the time, and I look forward to purchasing the “Ready 8.0” palettes available next month, which hold 8 of the solid shadows. My only problem with this duo is that the two colors don’t necessarily complement each other, and for me, that aspect takes away from the convenience factor that I love about it. The colors are very light, so if you like a defined crease like I do, you still have to dig through other shadows to find a good accent color.

The navy eyeliner is crazy pretty! The color is SO rich and such a nice pretty blue.  It’s dark enough to be appropriate for the office, and light enough that you can actually tell it’s blue – so many navy liners are so dark that you can’t tell they’re blue once applied.

I’m totally in LOVE with the berry-colored lipgloss, Daredevil. I think the new formula, Marvelous Moxie, is a fantastic addition to the Bare Escentuals line because while remaining all natural, I can still get that plumping tingle that I adore from the Buxom line. This berry color is great with my skin tone – it’s sheer but not transparent, so you get a nice pop of color without having to use a heavy lipstick. If only I had four thumbs, these lipglosses would get four thumbs up from me.

On the eyes:

  • Bare Escentuals Brightening opal primer
  • READY Azure Iris on lid from lashes to crease
  • BE Surreal in crease
  • BE High Shine Flash on inner corner
  • Round the Clock waterproof liner in Noon
  • tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara

On the lips:

  • Bare Escentuals Marvelous Moxie lipgloss in Daredevil

On the face:

  • Bare Escentuals Brightening primer
  • Bare Escentuals Original foundation in fairly medium
  • Bare Escentuals Rose Radiance

Champagne is Oh So Special!

I wish pictures could do the colors and shine of this look better justice. I started with Mally’s shadow stick in Champagne – all over the lid and into the crease, but also along the lower lashline. The champagne plus the little pop of aquamarine under my eyes, plus the Sleek Makeup pink color on my lid made my eyes look bright and awake. The pink color on my lid isn’t showing as bright and vibrant in the pictures as it does in real life. What I really love about this combo is that it didn’t budge an inch for the rest of the day due to wearing Mally’s shadow stick as a base color (over primer). Based on my experience so far, her products really do seem to be “bulletproof” although I’m hoping I won’t literally need bulletproof armor on my eyelids. 🙂

On the eyes:

  • Bare Escentuals brightening primer in Sunlight
  • Mally Champagne shadow stick all over lid and along lower lashline/waterline
  • Sleek MakeUp (Oh So Special palette) Ribbon on lid, Organza on inner lid, and Boxed in crease and outer V, Pamper above crease to blend up to Bow under brow
  • Sleek MakeUp (Monaco palette) Aquamarine under lower lashes
  • Bare Escentuals Retro liner shadow tightlining upper lashes
  • tarte Gifted mascara

On the lips:

  • Bare Escentuals Pretty Amazing Allure
  • NYX Mega Shine lip gloss in Beige (although the gloss is clearly pink.)

On the face:

  • Laura Geller Balance N Brighten in Fair
  • tarte Tipsy blush
