Inspired by New Orleans

Well, I’m headed to New Orleans! I feel SO lucky that I get to tag along with my sweet husband while he has to work at a conference. In anticipation for this trip of a lifetime, I was feeling very creative and found myself inspired by Mardi Gras. Yes, I know I’m about six months too late… or six months too early, whichever way you look at it! It was SO fun to come up with this look, but it was time consuming and is definitely not an every day look.

I used the Sleek MakeUp Curacao palette, which has become my go-to palette for really bright, pigmented colors that are very easy to blend. I also used Buxom Leatherette lashliner on my eyes. On my lips, I used Pretty Amazing Ambition with some Bare Escentuals True Gold patted onto the center of both lips.

Other products used today include Bare Escentuals brightening face primer and brightening eye primer, Laura Geller balance N Brighten foundation in Fair, MAC mineralize blush in Feeling Flush, Benefit Dallas (to contour), Bare Escentuals Turn On (to highlight), Make Up For Ever HD microfinishing powder, Mally Beauty cancellation concealer duo, and tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara.

About Essy
I'm finally figuring out this makeup thing in my 30's. It's so much fun to collect and play with new colors and styles. I'm not a makeup artist, and far from it. I welcome any comments and tips you have!
