Bare Escentuals READY The Elements 4.0

I just picked up the Bare Escentuals READY 4.0 quad “The Elements.” It comes with four distinct shades representing Air, Earth, Fire and Water. This quad really spoke to me because it was so different – the quads with purples and neutrals were of course BEAUTIFUL and hard to resist (for now), but I liked this one for standing apart from the crowd. I have limited experience with the READY shadows, but my experience has been positive so far. I’m going to reserve judgement on this quad until I’ve had the chance to use it a few times. My very first impression is that the Water and Air colors are gorgeous and very easy to use, but Earth was a little hard to blend. Fire is really pretty but takes a little more work to blend. All are velvety soft and I love that there are multiple different ways to wear this quad.

On the eyes:

  • Bare Escentuals Brightening primer
  • The Elements – Air on inner corner and under brow, Fire on lid, Earth in crease, and Water to line
  • tarte Lights Camera Lashes and LORAC 3d mascara

On the lips:

  • tarte Lipsurgence in Joy
  • Bare Escentuals Marvelous Moxie lipgloss in Wild One

On the face:

  • Dr. Jart anti-aging BB cream
  • Laura Geller Balance N Brighten in Fair
  • Amazing Cosmetics concealer in Fair
  • Bare Escentuals auburn brow powder
  • tarte Tipsy blush
  • Laura Mercier finishing powder

About Essy
I'm finally figuring out this makeup thing in my 30's. It's so much fun to collect and play with new colors and styles. I'm not a makeup artist, and far from it. I welcome any comments and tips you have!
